WHAT REQUIRES A BUILDING PERMIT:
· Construction of a new structure and additions to an existing structure.
· Demolition or removal of a structure 200 s.f. or greater.
· Relocation of a structure 200 s.f. or greater.
· Construction of a structure 200 s.f. or greater.
· Change in use of an existing structure.
· Construction or relocation of a fence.
· Conversion from seasonal to year-round occupancy of a dwelling.
WHAT DOES NOT REQUIRE A BUILDING PERMIT:
· Structures less than 200 square feet, used as a detached accessory building to the principal use; general repairs and maintenance.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Inspections: It is the applicant’s responsibility to schedule required inspections. Required inspections will be determined by the Site Inspector & Fire Chief upon issuance of the building permit. A minimum of 48 hours prior notice must be given.
· Building permit and one copy of plans must be on site at all times.
· Building permit shall be required before starting any work, including site work.
· Appeal: Any party who has been aggrieved by the denial of a building permit application may appeal from such action by filing a written appeal from said administrative decision within thirty (30) days from the date of decision, said appeal to be filed with the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
