The members of the Dublin Budget Committee are elected for staggered terms of three years. In addition, one member is appointed from the Board of Selectman. Although the Committee meets quarterly to review the current budget, most of their work is done between September 1 and Town Meeting in March of the following year.
Meeting individually with department and committee heads, the BudCom is responsible for presenting the recommended Town budget at Town Meeting in March. The Board of Selectmen also present their Town budget, which may or may not differ from the BudCom version. The voters decide at Town Meeting which budget they want for the new year.  
The Budget Committee is a very important Town Committee and residents with financial backgrounds or budgeting backgrounds are always encouraged to run for open seats in the March election.
