Open Space Planning Committee
Minutes - October 2, 2008
Meeting at Town Hall convened at 8:30. Members present: Present: Anne Anable, Ed Germain, Betsey Harris, Henry James, Bruce Simpson, Sue Yarger. Absent: Sterling Abram, Bill Barker, Jack Lewis, Mike Walker.
The minutes of July 9 and September 18 were approved.
Sue Yarger agrees to be the secretary commencing at the next meeting.
The committee discussed potential future members.
Betsey asked who wished to attend which of the upcoming sessions of Land Conservation Leadership Training. Initial preferences were:
October 8: Making the Case for Conservation in Your Community: Henry and Joe
October 22: Intro to Land Conservation Methods and Organizations: Annie and Sue
November 5: Landowner Outreach: Joe, Ed and Sue
November 19: Conservation Planning and Project Evaluation and Selection: Jack, Bruce and Anne
December 3: Stewardship: Caring for the Land You Protect: Jack, Bruce and Henry
January 31, 2009: Land Conservation Funding: Ed and Joe
Joe suggested that if attendance is limited, Betsey as chair should pick the attendees.
The following meeting schedule was established. All OSPC meetings will be on a Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.:
October 15, October 29, November 12, December 10.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:10.
