The Dublin Conservation Commission’s mission is to preserve Dublin’s most important natural resources, especially its watersheds, aquifers, scenic vistas and forest and woodland environments. It does this by educating residents about the environment and the importance of protecting their water resources and by monitoring development activities for their effects on the environment. The Commission also encourages landowners to conserve the lands of Dublin, both by their own management and by arranging for the permanent set-aside of lands through conservation easements or outright sales or gifts.
The Commission also works to improve the environment where possible, for example by developing programs to control or eradicate non-native invasive plants and by appropriately monitoring and managing the conservation lands already owned or being conserved by Dublin.
