Motor Vehicle Registrations

See below for lots of helpful information about registering vehicles, and links to some frequently used forms that you can print.

New Residents

If you drive a vehicle and have moved to Dublin from out of state, the law says you must obtain a New Hampshire driver’s license and NH vehicle registration within 60 days of moving here. You will need to get your license with a NH Department of Motor Vehicles substation. The closest one to Dublin that is in business during the pandemic is in Keene, where you can do transactions by drop box. You can contact the DMV at 227-4000.  Here is a link to a page that tells you what you will need to get your driver’s license.

To register your vehicle for the first time during the pandemic, you will need to make an appointment to come in to the Town Clerk's office.  If your vehicle is model year 2000 or newer, we will need the title.  If the title is being held by a lienholder, you will need to bring the following to the Town Clerk’s office:

  1. Proof of your physical Dublin address, not just a P.O. Box. Your electric bill or other utility bill should have your physical address on it. If you get mail delivered to your home, a piece of recently sent mail delivered in your name will do.  If you don't have any of these things, you should get a letter from your landlord, or bring in your mortgage agreement.
  2. The address for the lienholder that is holding your title. If you have a phone and fax number too, that would be helpful. It may also be helpful to call the lienholder yourself to let them know that you have moved to New Hampshire and that the state requires the original title in order for you to be able to register your vehicle.
  3. Your current out of state registration.
  4. The purchase date and odometer reading from when you purchased your vehicle, if available.
  5. We can accept checks or cash only over the counter.
New Registration Estimates

If you would like to get an estimate of how much it will cost to register a vehicle for the first time, you can click on the link above and do an Estimate by Vehicle.  You will need to enter the month of birth of the first person who will be listed on the registration, and the year, make, model, gross weight, and original list price of the vehicle.

Renewals

The Dublin Town Clerk’s office does not send renewal reminders at this time, so you will need to remember to renew your registration(s) before they expire each year.  We recommend sending your payment two or more weeks before your registrations expire.  Your expiration date will be near the top of your registration on the right side and will usually be the last day of your birth month if you are the first person listed on the registration. During the pandemic, we are asking that you renew online HERE, by mail or by drop box only.  Please plan ahead.

To pay by check, the town's drop box is next to the back door of the Town Hall, and our mailing address is Town Clerk, P.O. Box 62, Dublin, NH 03444.  Be sure to send with your check a list of the years, makes and models of the vehicles in your name that you would like to renew, and a phone number where you can be reached in case there are any issues or questions about your registration.  Call the town clerk’s office at 563-8859 to get the correct amount to write on your check.  In order to look up this information, we will ask you for the month of expiration, your name and address, and the year(s), make(s) and model(s) of the vehicle(s) that you will be renewing.  Please allow at least 14 days for your registration to get back to you by mail.  If there are any changes that need to be made to your registration, you will need to come to the town clerk’s office in person.  If you are paying by check, you can renew your vehicle registrations up to four months before the expiration dates but you will need your current registrations in hand when you call us for the amounts.
